SKCV Vision Reaching out to homeless street children in need in India to provide a steady and friendly future for those who have no other form of support through charity. Achieved through comprehensive assistance programmes which include proper shelter, nutrition, skill training, medical aid, recreation, counselling, child participation and education. SKCV Mission To create an environment for comprehensive development of young homeless and orphan street children, making them aware of themselves with relation to the world and their own problems, thus mobilising their independent potential to work collectively towards a better future for themselves, and a cleaner, healthier and more peaceful planet through child participation. Local Coordination Our organisation was jointly successful in setting up, and supporting, Child Line free booth (Dial 1098) on Vijayawada Railway Station for earliest intervention for runaway children and street kids in India. This was achieved through proper and ongoing sensitisation of Railway and Police authorities. We were also successful in encouraging the District Collector, Police Commissioner, Municipal Commissioner, Mayor, Dty. Mayor, Assistant Labour Commissioner and other local administrative authorities to act on the problems of street children as part of their annual agenda. This includes a considerable specific annual budget authorised by the local council for street child welfare. We have also set up programmes for HIV/AIDS, Non-formal education, the Girl Child and volunteer work. An SKCV Profile A registered Charitable Trust in India, UK and Holland, the Trust works DIRECTLY with kids who have no other form of support.
